Art Nouveau

Alphonse Mucha- Flora

Fabric Pattern

Art Nouveau Fashion

Art Nouveau Jewellery

Hello there! So today I thought I'd post something related to what I'm working on, in my textiles project at the moment. As everyone has finished their exams we now start college work for next year. In textiles we have two main projects our chosen topic ( I chose growth and decay) and our exam (we don't get the papers for this until end of mid February time). In this chosen topic we need to carry out contextual research which is basically looking at designers or artists or anything that can relate to your topic that inspires you. One of my main influences for growth and decay I have chosen is the art movement "Art Nouveau". I won't give you a history lesson but as you can see from these pictures there's a theme of flowers, insects, leafs and the human form- simply because natural form was what art nouveau explored. I thought it would work so well with my topic and there is so much to research to be done, that I don't think I will get bored of it really.
Names that i have started to look up!
Alphonse Mucha
Antonio Gaudi
^Both such amazing talents.
Enjoy! :) xoxx

Oh how I love birthdays!

Birthday meal pics!

Hey there! So I went a joint birthday meal with my friends from school which was absolutely amazing because I haven't seen them all together properly since we left last year (which I know is really bad, but everyone is always busy when others have some spare time). I love birthdays because I love buying people gifts and I think I'm pretty good at buying them so usually they like what I get them! Everyone looked so lovely and I was a little sneaky and didn't follow the memo about wearing heels (I'm a falts kinda girl!). I wore my black pleated skirt from H&M with a dark rouge velvet blazer from River island, a DIY crop top i made from a vintage scarf and of course can't forget my Nikes!

Style steel!! #2

£3 Skirt!

Hello there! So today was pretty cool, I met up with a friend and we just went for a walk around the park. What happened to the days everyone just went for walks to spend time with the people? It's so simple and I prefer it so much to going to the cinema! Anyways rant over, this is the simple outfit that I wore today. This skirt I kid you not, cost a measly £3 from Primark, I bought it yesterday (I'll do a Primark Haul soon!). My T-shirt is from Levi jeans and my trainers are from JD but I’ve had them for so long! So I hope you like this style steel and please let me know what you guys think :)
Enjoy! xoxx

Style steel! #1

Hello there! This was from a photo shoot I did for a friend, my shirt is from a Vintage Shop i bought it last year for literally £1 and it was my favourite clothing item, it goes with a lot of things and looks great tucked in or out. My treggings were on sale at H&M for £4!! This is just a casual, simple look and for a measly £5 you just can't go wrong with that!

Enjoy! xoxx

Thinking about the future

So I went for a tour of Nottingham Trent University with a friend about a few weeks ago (sorry about how late I’m posting things its because I’ve literally just finished my exams). I loved seeing all of the student’s work and all the amazing facilities they have!
My blazer is from river island, I bought it about 2 Christmases ago.

The crop top I’m wearing was actually a scarf I bought from a charity shop.

My treggings are from Zara and my trainers? My cousin bought them didn’t like them and kindly gave them to me.
Enjoy! :) xoxx
