Look Book Inspiration

Hey there! Now I know I do quite a few inspiration posts, but I think this may be the most interesting one yet (apart from my Eliza Doolittle post of course). I have a look book page and the link is above so you can check that out if you like, but I wanted to show you all some awesome people that although we have different styles I am such big fans of! I've chosen my top three at the moment so here they are!

#1 Konstantina Tzagaraki

I am a big fan of her style! Konstantina comes across in such a elegant way in all of her look book posts, I love the way she accessories and sticks to current trends but in her own way. If you to also like Konstantina click here for her look book profile.

#2 Juliett Kuczynska

I really do like the way Juliett wears her clothes. She has such a laid back fresh look that she pulls of so effortlessly! I really like her shorts in the first picture and although she bought them from a website, I would really like to try a DIY on them. Click here for her look book profile and click here for her blog.

#3 Petra Karlsson

The thing that amazes me the most about Petra is that she is only 15! Now I know there are a lot of boys and girls younger than Petra but she has such a mature fashion sense. For her look book profile page click here and for her blog click here.

So these are my top three girls that I really like at the moment, my next look book post will be on my top three guys! I hope you have liked this post and if you are on look book it'll be worth checking these three out, i'm sure you won't be disappointed. I don't use look book as much as i'd like to but i guess it'll be something for me to try to concentrate on more, have a loverlee day!
Enjoy!

Summer Sun!

Hello there! About a week ago the weather was really nice again, so I went back to the park but I actually did some of my course work due in for when I get back to college.

So my dress is from a vintage store that sadly shut down, in their closing down sale I picked it up for 50p which I think is pretty amazing!! Although I did have to make it shorter because it was so long (I did make it too short, but then it gives me a chance to wear my DIY bicycle shorts) it was worth the little work I did had to do anyways.  Undernieth i'm wearing my old Tinker belle T-shirt that you may reconise from my Sunny Surprises #2 post. My much loved fabric brogues are from Topshop. Hope you have a loverlee day!
Enjoy! xox

Platform Sneakers!

Hello there! I'm still so very much in love with platform sneakers it's getting quite out of hand! Especailly Superga's work with House of Holland! When it's my pay day i'm so serious about buying two new pairs i'm that obsessed!

Okay so the first four platforms are from the House of Holland Superga collaboration and the last three I found on a American website, I think it was a blog because there was nowhere for you to buy them. I don't mind that much because my heart is set on at least a pair of the others! I love the colours, the extra height and I just think they look really cool with everything! You might have noticed I do tend to wear my Topshop ones a lot. I'm not sure why, but i'm not a very big fan of Creepers, I think they look really cool when they're styled well but for me? I just don't think they fit in with my style. If you could choose a pair of these platforms, which would you get?

DIY fringed shorts #1

Hello there! You may have noticed the #1 in the title, meaning this is just the beginning of fringing! I have been a little cheeky- I have already done fringing before on a pair of shorts, but don't worry I will do a separate post on that soon. So this is basically how I would style these shorts, If you want to know how to make your own pair of fringed shorts click here to see how.

My jumper and platform sneakers are both from Topshop, my shorts and bag are from Next. Hope you like this post! It was really awkward to take photo's because I dragged my younger sister around trying to find an spot, where we chose there was a lot of passing traffic watching hahahaa.
Enjoy! :) xoxo

Nike Air Royalty Macarons

Hello there! If like me you're also a lover of sneakers you should like this post! Early 2010 Nike launched their Air Royalty Macarons range. Although this was just over two years ago, I am still in love with these kicks! The Parisian boutique Colette was inspired by Macarons - a French sweet meringue-based confectionery usually filled with butter icing, jam or ganache (they taste so good!).

Colette held a special “cooklette” event where the people invited were given all different sweets and treats to dress up thier macarons! It looks like it would've been so much fun to take part in. I absolutely love the colours and it matches this years S/S 2012 pastel colour trends. I really wanted a pair but I couldn't afford them at the time, and now I have a paid Job, I can't find them anywhere! I think Eliza has a pair of these and that's how I found out about them. but I will keep looking!
Enjoy! xox

DIY Denim Shorts!

Hey there! I've been pretty productive today I must say! I'm not sure If you have seen my other post pre DIY denim shorts, if you haven't click here to see what my shorts looked like before I did my DIY-ing. So hopefully my instructions aren't too confusing! If you need some help or have a question, email me at: tayafrancis@btinternet.com and I'll be more than happy to get back to you.

okay so to doo this DIY I needed, a sewing machine, a ruler, pins, thread, scissors, tailors chalk, fringing and of course a pair of shorts! :)

If your shorts (like mine) have elastic around the edge cut it off!

Measure 1cm hem for the edge of your shorts and mark with your tailors chalk.

Where you marked with the tailors chalk fold and pin all the way around the shorts.

With your sewing machine, sew all the way around both legs of the shorts so you have a straight line.

Change your thread to match the colour of your fringing :)

Place your fringing just over the straight line that you just sew to hide it (you can pin it, if that helps).

Neatly sew around both legs of the shorts with the fringing attached! When the two ends of the fringing or trim meets you can just overlap them and neatly sew over.

When you're finished, your new snazzy shorts should look a little something like this!

Hope you enjoyed this post! I want to do more like this so any feed back positive or negative will be appreciated very much! You don't have to just stick to shorts, try out different things to, for example putting fringing on a crop top maybe? I really enjoyed doing this post, also be sure to stick around for how I would style these!
Enjoy! :) xoxo

A summers day in the park. . .

So Finally we had some awesome weather in England! To take advantage of the sun, me and my siblings took a trip down to a local park for the day.

I'll let you in to a little secret ;) What looks like a vest top is actually a play suit! I just layered it with my black pleated skirt because I think it looks great both ways. I have my shoe lace belts again and then as usual i'm wearing some sneakers. As you can see we bought Kermit the frog along with us hahahaa- hope you have a great week.
Enjoy! :) xoxx

pre DIY denim shorts!

So yes what this post is about, is in the name! These are pictures of my outfit today and more importantly my shorts... I'm going to make these look a little different! This post it to show how I would style them, and as you can tell it's a very relaxed, nothing special look what so ever!

So my tie die vest was actually given to me from my mom, it's her's from last summer and I really wanted it. My shirt (that you may recognise from an earlier blog post) is from a vintage charity shop nearby to where I live. My shorts are about three years old and were bought from Next in the kids department. Then on to my sandals, which are again about three years old... Can you tell? I really don't like them but I thought I never wear them so why not :)
Any suggestions on what I should doo to my shorts? I have an Idea but it would be cool to read what you all think...
Enjoy! :) xoxx
